Rodent

27 June 2006

There is a rat that has decided to take up residence in the vines outside the window in the computer room at my dad’s house.  At night, when we have the light on, moths fly around the window, and every now and again the rat with scurry up the vines, snatch a moth, stuff it into his mouth, and scurry back down.

I think I’ve decided to name him Pete.

And coming in at number 68…

According to Forbes magazine, Chino Hills is ranked as number 68 in the top 100 places to live in the United States.

I know a lot of kids who grew up in Chino Hills that say, “I hate it here…  I can’t wait to move away.”  I, however, love Chino Hills, and I wouldn’t mind living here for the rest of my life.

El consejo de un hipócrita

14 June 2006

You spend every hour of every waking moment thinking to youself, “Why won’t she come back to me?  Why doesn’t she love me anymore?”  She didn’t fall in love with you in the first place because of the way you wallowed in self-pity.  Why would you think that flaunting your self-pity in front of her would make her come back to you?

Perhaps you should focus on yourself.  Make yourself into an incredible human being.  Take the steps necessary to better yourself.  Become someone who is capable of giving her the love she wants…  and needs.

You want her to come back to you?

Give her something to come back to.

Dawn

I find that there’s something so much more magical about sunrise, as compared to sunset.  Perhaps it’s merely the fact that sunrise is seen far less often than sunset…  but it just feels bigger…  more spiritual.  It proclaims the birth of a new day, ripe with opportunity and chance.

And I still can’t figure out what it as about sunrise that makes it look different than sunset.  It’s seems…  less orange…  and more golden.  It doesn’t make sense.  In theory, they should look the same, right?  I mean, having a sun ten degrees above the horizon in the east should be identical to have a sun ten degrees above the horizon in the west…  just, backwards…  yes?
